5 facts about taylor nicole king.
1. "never let 'em see you sweat" is her motto from a young age taylor nicole king liked to appear as though she had all of the answers. in general, she typically thinks she knows everything... but in reality it's quite the opposite. the girl is almost naive to a fault at times and is oblivious to some of the things around her, mainly because she chooses to ignore the things that don't fall into her 'life plan', whatever that may be. she likes to appear put together and as though she's got everything perfectly executed and planned out, when in reality the only thing she has ever been 100% sure about in her life is her own name. the very first kink in roadblock she encountered was the divorce of her parents, kristen and james king. each would head off to work as early as possible and return home as late as they could, hoping to leave no time to argue. to all of their dismay, kristen and james were no longer able to converse without an argument. taylor spent many sleepless nights in her bedroom listening to her parents arguing. each and every night she vowed not to cry and acted as though she was sound asleep when both her mother and father would separately come into her room to check that she was asleep after their argument was over, for the time being. while she isn't completely closed off by any means, she's been through a lot and prefers to keep her negative emotions to herself. to this date, there are only three people in her life that have ever seen her cry.
2. has lived in 5 different states after her parents finally divorced, taylor moved from her home town of key west, florida to new york, where she lived until she was 11 years old with her mother. during this time she had limited contact with her father but spent numerous days and nights wondering where he was, what he was doing, and if he ever thought about her. the two would speak roughly once a month but that wasn't enough for taylor. on taylor's 12th birthday her mother decided she needed a change, an escape, and went off to live in london for the next five years while taylor lived in california with her father for her middle school years. it was a challenging time for taylor who, while she was happy to be living with her father, could have used to wisdom and knowledge of a mother to help her through various situations. after spending her middle school years in california, james decided to move back to key west in hopes of providing both taylor and himself with some stability. the job market would have it otherwise, however. the two spent only a few short months back in taylor's home town of key west before moving to chicago, illinois.
no matter where she was living during the school year each and every summer would bring taylor to aspen, colorado, the home of her grandparents. this is where she met one of her childhood best friends, nate. nate and taylor instantly clicked with one another, each finding a friendship in another that was laced with pure innocence, fun, and a sense of security. such a chaste friendship lasted far longer than anyone thought - that is, until their most recent summer together when their flirting and innocent hand holding escalated to sleepovers in the same bed, nights spent talking until the sun came up, and skinny dipping in various lakes around aspen. at the end of each summer both saw their friendship, and later their summer fling, as just that. they each acknowledged that they had spent two wonderful months together, and promised to keep in touch. now, with taylor's return to tegesta high for her senior year, she'll be surprising nate (and others) with her presence.
3. her favorite person in the world is her cousin, jules. despite the fact that taylor had moved more times by age 18 than most do in an entire lifetime, her cousin jules was always there for her. the two kept in touch via phone calls, letters, and e-mails, and taylor promised to return to key west at the end of each and every letter. it wasn't that she loved key west, it was just that she found a sense of family and permanence there. now that she is finally returning to her home town, taylor is both relieved and excited to find some sort of stability in spending her senior year with her cousin and best friend. jules is the one and only person who knows taylor inside and out. she also has had the privilege, if one might call it that, of seeing taylor cry. with these two there are never any explanations necessary, just simply just know one another and accept each other for who they are.
4. believes that relationships are a waste of time after seeing what her mother and father went through, taylor was convinced that relationships only led to heartache and drama. she has never actually been exposed to a successful relationship other than that of her grandparents, who she believes are just too old to really bother anymore. it certainly doesn't help that any time she got close to a relationship, or something like it, with nate the summer would come to an end. and then there's always her ex boyfriend... the one who has inherently dismantled her trust in any male creature whatsoever, at least for anything beyond the occasional make out and messing around.
5. has recently involved herself in various recreational activities upon her return to key west in an attempt to have a successful senior year, taylor has decided to join the cheerleading squad. when she was a young girl she was always the superstar of her tumbling and gymnastics classes and her tiny frame makes her a perfect fit to be a flyer. she thought it would be a great way to meet friends and also a great way to keep her away from her father so that he wouldn't have the opportunity to bounce any ideas about moving off of her. in addition to cheerleading, taylor hopes to be the co-captain of the girls varsity tennis team in the spring. aside from school activities, taylor attends parties on the weekends and will certainly drink and occasionally smoke but won't do much more. she sometimes finds it difficult to resist temptation but as long as she's around people she trusts then she'll usually be all for having a good time.
