Taylir Emily Christensen
Taylir Emily Christensen was born on April 12th to her happy parents Neil and Linda Christensen. Her parents met in high school, started off as friends and didn’t really become ‘something else’ until college. Once they got to know each other more, it didn’t take long for them to realize that they were perfect for each other. So, by the end of college the two were engaged and planning their life together. She was born into a well off family, both her parents had decent jobs and all they wanted was a child to complete their happy family. That’s when their princess was born. Her parents did everything to treat their baby girl right and provided her with everything and anything right off the bat. Since she was the only child, Taylir got all the attention for her parents, that meant what ever she wanted she pretty much got. Yeah, she was pretty spoiled, but hey, it’s wasn’t her fault the her mom and dad just couldn’t say no ever to their little girl.
As a child she spent a lot of time with her mom and become really close to her as the years went. While her dad worked everyday to provide for the family, her mother decided to take sometime off of her job and stay home with her daughter and bond. So that’s exactly what they did. Even as a baby, her mom would take her out shopping almost everyday, pushing her stroller from store to store picking out the perfect baby clothes and showing her daughter off to all her friends. She treated her like a doll, played dress up with her, read to her, brushed her hair every morning, and basically anything mother daughter related. Being so close to both of her parents, Taylir was babied by them and never really was expected to do anything herself, she didn’t have to do chores, everything was always given to her and whatever she wanted she got. At the same time, her parents were also very strict. Whatever they said went, Taylir was always expected to listen to her parents and never do anything they wouldn’t approve of.
School came easy for Taylir. It started off with Kindergarten which she found herself fitting in with the other kids right away. Never the shy one, right of the bat Taylir was winning over her class mates with her infectious smile and non stop chatter mouth that has stuck with her till this day. She was the good little teachers pet in her grade who did everything she was suppose to, shared her snack, cleaned up her toys when she was done with it and never ever got into little fights with the other kids. Her behavior was pretty much the same all through elementary. She got the good grades and was a favorite among all the teachers. When Junior high rolled around, Taylir’s attitude towards school remained the same, her goal was only to do well and not let peer pressure and experimenting in like the other kids bring her down. Both her parents always told Taylir that education was key and to make it in life, she needed to the best possible one. So that’s exactly what she did. She drowned herself in loads of extra curricular activities and instead of hanging out with her friends, she stayed in studying the night away.
When it came time for High school, Taylir was only excited to start the new chapter of her life. From everything her parents always told her, she knew that the next three years were the most important, because after High school she could basically go to any University she wanted if she maintained her honor roll grades. High School started off the same, Taylir was the good girl who always knew the answers to the question who had her small group of friends and didn’t really bother with anyone else. Unlike all the other students, she didn’t attend house parties or drink until they threw up all over the carpet, she just stayed away from the scene. Okay so she was kind of boring, but that was just her life. She didn’t do anything to go against her parents wishes, only because the outcome of it was something she didn’t want to witness. Even though High School was a time for most people to gain popularity and make themselves feel like they fit in, Taylir stayed away from that and just acted like herself. She already felt like she knew who she was and where she was going in the future.
Well what she didn’t know was that her life was in for a serious change. It was in the middle of tenth grade in her science class when the teacher assigned partners for a project that was required to be done together. Well Taylir had no problem with this at all, except she was paired with the bad boy of the class who was pretty much failing, who sat in the back of the class and paid more attention to his music and friends than anything else. That’s when Taylir met aheaton. They were complete opposites and had nothing at all in common. So you can only guess how the pairing started off for the project, they didn’t see eye to eye on anything and the whole time they should have been working, they were bickering. Funny thing was, what Taylir didn’t know was that he had developed a little crush on her. So clearly it didn’t take long for him to ask her to hangout one day. Taylir was hesitant at first, she never really went out, but something about him intrigued her that she just couldn’t say no. Being really into the local music scene, he ended up taking her to a gig in town. It was her first concert and she had no idea what to except. Well that night was probably the most fun she had ever had because the whole time was spent laughing, pretending she could dance and acting like a complete idiot.
After that night, they immediately clicked. It was weird how much Taylir actually liked him and how quickly it happened too. They were spending almost every night together, he was introducing her to this new lifestyle that she never got to see before since she was always to busy with schoolwork. And needles to say, Taylir loved it. She loved all the new things that he was introducing her to, and how there was so much more to life than getting great grades. She started to live her days more freely instead of all routined, it was like nothing could bring her down. So it was no surprise at all that her and aheaton quickly started dating after that one night they hung out together. He brought out a side to Taylir that she didn’t know was there and made her feel like she could do whatever she wanted not what was expected. The two were attached at the hip, whether it be during the day at school or after when they’d hit the local cd store or spending the night moshing away at some show. Music was something they both had in common, it was one thing that the two could relate to and only seemed to bring them closer. The way she felt about him was unreal, somehow to Taylir he was the one that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with.
With all the time Taylir spent with her new boyfriend, her grades at school slowly started to drop. It wasn’t important to her anymore. Before all she did was what her parents said and expected from her, never went against their wishes and now, none of that mattered to her. She was finally really happy with how things were going in her life. She was getting out more and dipping her feet into a new lifestyle that seemed to just be about having fun and living your life like you were dying the next day. Clearly her mom and dad weren’t to thrilled about her recent behavior. Staying out late, skipping classes, barely passing classes didn’t sit to well with them, and of course they blamed it all on her boyfriend. Before Senior year started, Taylir was told that this last year was crucial for her to pick up her grades to go to college after, so what she needed was to break it off with the boyfriend and focus all her time back to her studies. Obviously Taylir was not having any of it, She was in love with him and there was no way she was about to break up with him just to please her parents. This was the first time Taylir fought back against them and truly denied their orders. What she got from them was if she didn’t pass, she’d be cut off from them and have to provide for herself on her own, something she never had to worry about.
So as Senior year started, Taylir didn’t really change her behavior, but deep down inside she knew that her parents were right, and if she wanted at all to get a successful career in the future she needed to raise her marks. aheaton always assured her that what her parents were saying didn’t matter because they had each other. They were both crazy in love, wasn’t that enough? It was one night after a concert that the two were walking down the street with nobody around and the only lights around them was the stars that it happened. Her boyfriend confessed to her how this last three years had been the best in his life and how he never felt like this before. Before Taylir could say anything, he was down on one knee in front of her with a ring box open, asking if she would marry him. At that moment everything seemed so right that the only thing that came out of her mouth was yes. She couldn’t of been more happy at that moment. Well when she told her parents she got engaged, they were far from happy. Engaged?? Getting Married?? How possibly could their little princess even think about getting married at her age, especially when the way she was acting was slowly destroying her chances of getting into a good college. For Taylir, what her parents thought didn’t matter because in the end she was going to get married to him.
Well as the months went on, the two were starting to plan their future together. Neither one of them had a job and Taylir’s parents had already threatened numerous time about cutting her off if she seriously went with the wedding. But somehow every time Taylir had doubts, she was quickly pulled out of them by her fiance who would assure her over and over that in the end everything would turn out right. Being their age, thinking ahead to the results of their actions didn’t really happen since they were both just living in the now. They were going to get married, They were going to be together forever and there was nothing anyone could do about it. It just seemed so simple in her head. What Taylir didn’t realize was how much more there was to planning a future than being in love. Like where they were going to live once they graduated? How they were financially going to pay for things like bills and groceries. As Senior year was approaching to an end, they decided instead of a big wedding they would get eloped right after graduation. When the day came, neither one of their parents were at the ceremony only a close friend as their witness. Taylir always imagined that her wedding ceremony would have been like something out of a wedding, big and over the top. She would have looked like a princess with a big poofy dress on and then she would have walked down the isle with her dad, all eyes on her as she was smiling ear to ear gazing at her husband infront of her. That was how she imagined her dream wedding in her head, and their elopement ceremony was nothing like that.
Standing there infront of her two friends and her husband to be ready to recite her vows, it was like her whole life flashed in her eyes. Was she really about to get married at her age? I mean she just turned eighteen! There was so much that Taylir still wanted to experience in her life that maybe marriage would hold her back from. She did really love him a lot, but what her parents had said that this happening so fast was a bad idea was finally kicking in. What if it didn’t work? What if after a couple of months together they realised what a bad idea this was and broke up? What if getting married would forever stop her from getting a career and living her life? There were so many thought running through her head at that very moment which only left Taylir more confused than ever. Was this really the right decision? Once the minister asked ‘do you take this man to be your husband in sickness and in health until death do you part’ Taylir couldn’t do anything more than just stand there, her words unable to form. She was scared about uncertainty and what the result of this would be that all that escaped from her mouth was ‘I can’t’ As the tears streamed down the only thing Taylir could do was run out of the place leaving her husband to be at the alter.
The two broke up after that day, both left heart broken. She just could go through with it. Taylir tried to explain to him that they were moving to fast, but he wouldn’t listen to any of it. Her parents assured her that it was for the best that they broke up, now she could focus on her future. Only now she had no idea what she wanted to do with it. She was more confused and lost than ever. Her barely passing grades wouldn’t help her get into college and now without her boyfriend by her side, her life seemed pointless. She was now regretting not saying ‘I do’ more and more as the days went by, and the chance of getting to say it again didn’t seem like with was going to ever happen. Nothing made sense anymore. The summer after they broke up was spent with her feeling completely depressed, not wanting to do anything other than stay in her room mopping in bed. Everyone told her that it wasn’t the end of the world, but to her it kind of was. She had loved this boy, but because of the words, thoughts and threats her parents put into her head had caused her to panic and make the biggest mistake of her life by saying no and leaving him at the alter. And now she was dealing with the outcome of being lost and alone.
The only thing Taylir has going for her is cooking. It is one of her favourite things to do, having a passion for mixing together different ingredients to create something unique and edible. She loved to bake the most, especially cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. Taylirs dream is to one day own her own bakery that would be even better then even Sprinkles Cupcakes in LA. She use to bake all the time with her grandma, he taught her most of the stuff she knows today. When she was younger Taylir would play a game called 'Taylir's Cooking Show' where she would pretend that she was cooking for an audience on tv and say out loud what she was preparing and how to make the dish. It was one of her favourite games to play. She was also really attached to her easy bake oven as a kid, even though she could only make cakes using a light bulb, she still had a blast doing it, especially the decorating part. Even her parents thought that maybe Taylir would go off to culinary school one day and make it big as a chef and always encouraged her to get the grades she needed so she could apply to the best school and get it.
If you had to describe Taylir in one word, It would be mess. She’s kind of all over the place with the way she goes about. A lost and confused little girl just trying to find herself and the person that she wants to be. Funny how when she was younger she knew who she was and where she was going, and now it was totally opposite. Being lonely has found herself in random hookups just to make herself feel better and less alone. They don’t really mean anything and it usually happens at the after parties when she’s had a little to much to drink. Taylir is really just a sweetheart who will listen to your problems, hold your hair back when you’ve had to much to drink and puking on the side of the street and always there when she’s needed. She’s also very loyal. Her friends are like her family to her and she’ll do anything for them. When their down, she’s down and always there to defend them and try to make things better. She has an upbeat personality when you get her out of her shell. Even though she comes off as bottled up and she’s nothing but nice, random, goofy when you get to know her. Now nineteen years old, Taylor is living with her friend open in a little apartment in Cleavland. She’s been working as a waiter at the local Pizza Hut. She's got herself enrolled at Cleavland State University, with the satisfaction of her parents that she went to school as planned and paying for tuition with thier help.
