Summary:Still unable to preview new entries.
Original Request:
I have a permanent account and when I go to preview an entry before posting it to my journal I am getting a blank preview page. I have already reported this problem twice only to be told that it is a known issue and would be fixed whenever the site owner could find the time to fix it. That was back in November 2008 and the problem is still there.

I am still unable to preview any new entries before submitting them to my journal, all I get is a blank preview page. This has been an ongoing issue with my permanent journal.

We apologise for the delay in responding to your query. As a period of time has lapsed since your last comment, can you please confirm whether you are still experiencing the above issue?

Thank you for getting back to me.

I am in fact still encountering a blank preview page before submitting new entries to my permanent account. I originally reported this problem way back in November 2008 (the reference/tracking number for that support ticket was 2922).

In order to help me replicate your issue, could you let me know whether you are posting entries from online within the InsaneJournal site, or whether you are using a downloadable client? Please also let me know which browser or which client, including their versions.

I noticed from your previous request that this preview issue only occurs with your permanent account, is this still the case?

Also, please let me know whether you only have issues when previewing entries to your own account (and is it the same no matter the security settings of the entry?), or that you are unable to preview your entries to asylums as well.

I have always posted entries from online within the InsaneJournal site and I have used various browsers including Internet Explorer (versions 7, 8 and 9), Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox (version 4 I think but I'm not sure since I was using a family members computer).

Yes, the blank preview page issue only seems to happen with my permanent account. I have experimented with previewing new entries with my alternate free account and I never encounter an issue with the free one just as I never encounter preview page issues when posting to asylums. The problem is only with my permanent account.

First off, I don't mean to come off as pushy but has anyone actually bothered to look into the ongoing issue with my permanent account? It's been over three months since I replied to your question and so far I have not received a response to it.

Secondly, I recently took possession of a brand new computer which is running Windows 7 Home Premium with Internet Explorer Version 9 (I occasionally use Google Chrome) and I am still receiving a blank preview page with my permanent account.

It would be greatly appreciated if someone would let me know what is going on.

This is getting just a little bit ridiculous. November this year will mark FOUR years since I originally reported the blank preview page issue with my permanent account. The issue should be well and truly resolved by now, but no, I just checked and the blank preview page issue with my permanent account is still there ... when is something going to be done about it? I am a paid customer and I deserve better service than this.

I have been extremely patient and extremely frustrated waiting for someone to get back to me with the ongoing blank preview page with my permanent account. Yes, the issue is still there. I've been randomly doing preview page tests and they are always coming up blank with my permanent account. Can someone please get back to me and let me know what is going on, thank you.

I can only apologise for the delay, but as this problem is a technical issue this can only be resolved by the site's owner.

Due to the above, may I suggest that you use a downloadable client in the meanwhile, which should allow you to preview entries offline on your company prior to submitting it to your permanent account? Information on this is available in the above-mentioned FAQ.

Thank you for taking the time to get back to me. I know it's a technical issue that can only be resolved by the site owner but it's an issue that has plagued my permanent account for nearly four years. Someone was supposed to have sent my ticket to the attention of the site owner, I assume that was never done since the issue is still there after all of this time.

I'm also aware of using downloadable clients and I thank you for suggesting that regardless.

November 10th 2008 I reported an issue with my permanent account.
November 10th 2012 (exactly four years later) the issue is still there.

For four years I have been trying to get something done about the issue. For four years you people have fobbed me off by saying it's a technical issue that can only be resolved by the site owner ... that's when you can be bothered to respond to my comments at all. If the issue can't be fixed, just say so. Enough's enough!

I can only apologise for the delay in resolving your issue. You should understand that InsaneJournal Support is actually staffed by volunteers who are merely users of InsaneJournal, and do not have any access to the coding behind the site.

Your request has been brought to the attention of the site owner, but when the site owner can look into and resolve your problem is something that I cannot guarantee. You will note that support is currently littered with other technical issues that are just beyond the realm of support volunteers to resolve. If you do not believe that we have tried to contact the site owner, you are welcome to write to him direct at announcements. As a last suggestion, can I ask you to remove any journal schemes (and any customisation on your journal) and then try to write a new entry and preview it to see whether it works? I am asking this because this issue only occurs on your permanent account and not on the other accounts and it is possible that some of the coding in your journal customisation is incorrect and preventing the preview option from working correctly.
