Summary:Header image (firefox) - must use Custom CSS
Original Request:
Dear Support Staff,

I recently changed my layout to include a header banner of my choosing. At first it worked well on the Opera, Google Chrome and IE web browsers but I don't use FireFox or Netscape, so I never thought to check if it worked on those two.

Someone on my friends list commented saying they had to switch browsers TO IE to view the image. I am typing this from the Opera web browser available on the Nintendo DSi. I had just seen that the header image now is not viewable on this browser either.

What am I doing wrong if this is a user-end issue? Is it possible that there is something wrong on the site-end? The image IS there, the url code for it is there when I go to see what's wrong in the customization panel.

With hope,
~ironhide.
Diagnostics: Opera/9.50 (Nintendo DSi; Opera/507; U; en-US)

Hi ironhide -

For troubleshooting purposes, I have a few questions:

* are you using custom CSS on your layout for the header image or are you putting a URL for the image into the customization wizard?

* if you are using customer CSS, can you copy and paste that code into a response for Support volunteers to look at?

* the image *is* there in Firefox (which is the browser I'm using) but it's not loading on the page for some reason - if you rt-click and select 'view background image' you are directed to the URL for the image itself.

* have you tried a different image hosting service?

Thanx -
H2

It's a url. I don't have any custom CSS in my layout other than the modifications I can make to colours/comments/etc.

Where did you add the "header" image?

Where did you put the code?

Here is a screencap I took of the field where the image url is located.

Unfortunately this is not considered a "background" image. Firefox and other Mozilla browsers will not recognize this as a header, but will recognize it as a "background" which is what you have it set to.

There is a customized CSS for the "header" called ".headerimage"

Please use your favorite search engine to find tutorials such as "Adding Header Image to Generator style" which is an s2 style to assist you.
