Summary:Journal customization keeps changing
Original Request:
Since IJ has been back online, I am having a lot of trouble with the layout customization changing for this journal. I have changed it from S1 to S2, and back again. I have changed which layout theme I want. However, I continue to get the message: Layer belongs to another user. 4169631 vs 4167440. I logged in today, and the layout was once again changed. I'm sure the other person is having the same issue when I try and change it on my end. Is there anyway to correct this? It's extremely frustrating, I imagine, for both parties involved. Thanks so much!

We're sorry that you're experiencing this issue. I have very little experience in this issue so I would propose the following solution.

Is it possible to create a new layer, then copy and paste the previous layer's style into the new one, then use that new layer? After that, you can delete the one that belongs to another user and that should theoretically clear the problem up.

<lj user="shiki"> thank you for your suggestion! My account type does not allow me to make changes to layers, so I'm not sure how else to create a new one. As long as I'm not using Generator, I'm not running into any issues. It's not the best solution as Generator S2 is my preferred style for ease of reading, but it's a way to get around it. Even if I change it to Generator S1, I have the same issue.

Hi there! I completely understand. I ended up changing journals because the issue continued happening. It has also happened in this journal as well. I have a custom code in place now for the layout, and believe I am using a different journal type. So I'm not experiencing the problem. It only started happening after IJ went down so many months ago. I can only assume that is what is causing the issues. Thank you for all the hard work you put into the site! If I can provide any additional information for troubleshooting, please let me know. :)

Some of the links in the database got messed up during the outage. Unfortunately we haven't yet found a way to resolve these.
