How do I change the appearance of my embedded journal?
Depending on your account type, there are different levels of modification you can make to your embedded journal.
If you have a Free Patient account, your embedded journal will display in the same style as your journal on InsaneJournal. More information on changing the appearance of your InsaneJournal can be found at http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=7 .
However, Early Inmates, and users with "Self-committed" [paid] and Permanently Insane accounts can customize their embedded journals to the same extent as they can their journals on InsaneJournal. In almost all of the methods listed at http://www.insanejournal.com/developer/embedding.bml , the style ID number "101" is used. Style 101 contains hard-coded colors and does not contain comment links, which some users find limiting when attempting to embed their journal into their website.
If you are an Early Inmate, or have a Self-committed or Permanently Insane account, your embedded journal can have any look that you want, using custom styles (http://www.insanejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=43) . When creating a style to use for embedding, be sure to check the box at the top of the page marked "Embedding?".
