In order to insert images into your journal entries or userinfo, they must first be uploaded to a webspace provider that allows remote loading. You can not display a picture directly from your computer's hard disk. More information on remote loading and image loading requirements can be found by visiting this FAQ.
To insert an image to your journal entry or userinfo, use the following img tag where you want the image to appear:
Within the code, "http://www.imagehoster.com/imagename.jpg" must be replaced by the actual URL of the image. The [alt="Picture explanation here"] is optional, and will show the text in the quotation marks when the mouse cursor is hovering over the image.
You can also tell the browser how tall and wide the image is. To do this, use the following code:
Replace "y" with the height of the image (in pixels) from top to bottom, and "x" with the width of the image (in pixels) from right to left.
When adding an image to a journal entry, you may also want to use an LJ-Cut tag to hide the image behind a link. This can reduce problems caused by improperly formed HTML or large images.
If you just want to add a user picture for your journal, see the userpic FAQ
