Invitation codes are no longer required to create new accounts [http://www.insanejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=11]. Therefore, to prevent wasting any unused invite codes that have been previously generated, you can exchange them for a coupon.

Coupons are only accepted for intangible items [see http://www.insanejournal.com/pay/], such as upgrading a Free Patient account to a Self-committed [paid] one. For each code of your first 10 invite codes, you will receive $0.50 USD. If you have more than 10, each additional code will be worth $0.25 USD. However, there is a maximum of $25.00 for each coupon. Coupons can be claimed by visiting [http://www.insanejournal.com/invite/claim.bml], where the total amount of your coupon will be automatically calculated. You will then receive an e-mail with details on your coupon. Simply enter it at [http://www.insanejournal.com/pay/] for the reduction on your desired item(s). Your coupon will also be accepted to purchase something for another user.

Please note that a coupon is for one-time use only. If you have a coupon that is worth $7.00 USD, and you wish to purchase 6 months of Self-committed [paid] account time, you will waste the extra $1.00 on your coupon. If you wish to purchase 12 months of Self-committed [paid] account time, you would only have to pay $3.00 USD.
