So some of you may or may not know, myself and the site are located here in sunny South Florida. Well right now we are in the path of Hurricane Matthew. This is a very scary storm and we are busy getting our home ready and our family safe. That said our servers are also housed in a datacenter local to me so I can handle any onsite issues as they might arise.
The datacenter we are in does have emergency generators and multiple ingress points for internet access. That said I have worked in Datacenter Operations for 20 years and know how these things can (and do) fail when they are needed most. So there is a chance we could be offline during and after the storm. The datacenter has assured us that they have fueled the generators and are on priority to get power restored if it is lost. That said I am probably going to get knocked offline myself so I won't know the status of the site.
As soon as we are able to I will be logging in and making sure things are coming back online. I will be in close contact with the datacenter when possible to make sure they are aware of any issues we might be having.
Thanks for all you have done for the site and for supporting us.
